Real - Monaco 6:1

Monaco’s deepening crisis reached a new low in Madrid as Real Madrid delivered a crushing 6–1 defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu, exposing the visitors’ defensive frailties on the grandest European stage.

The hosts were utterly unforgiving. Real Madrid tore through Monaco’s back line with surgical precision, scoring from all six of their shots on target.

The night belonged to Kylian Mbappe. The French superstar needed just 25 minutes to seize control of the contest, striking twice early on to leave his former Ligue 1 rivals reeling and effectively deciding the outcome before the match had truly settled.

After the interval, it was time for Vinicius Junior to take centre stage. The Brazilian winger put on a solo masterclass, forcing an own goal from Thilo Kehrer with his relentless direct running before curling a sensational effort into the top corner.

Monaco, coached by Sebastien Pocognoli, showed brief signs of resistance midway through the first half, but efforts from Jordan Teze and Maghnes Akliouche failed to trouble the scoreboard. As the match wore on, Real Madrid’s dominance became overwhelming.

A late consolation goal from Folarin Balogun did little to soften the blow, merely easing the pain of what stands as Monaco’s heaviest defeat in European competition.
