AS Roma produced a ruthless attacking display in Puglia, crushing Lecce 4-0 away from home in the third round of Serie A to temporarily move to the top of the Italian league table.

The visitors needed just four minutes to break the deadlock. Dutch forward Donyell Malen capitalised on a costly defensive error from Gaspar before calmly finding the net to put Roma ahead.

Malen doubled the advantage in the 23rd minute with a superb finish, delicately lifting the ball over the goalkeeper to complete his brace. Just two minutes later, Argentine winger Matias Soule struck again, turning a dominant opening spell into a commanding 3-0 lead.

There was still time for another highlight. Young midfielder Esteban Mora capped the emphatic victory with his first-ever Serie A goal, completing a memorable night for the visitors. Lecce could offer little in response, with their closest effort coming when they struck the post.

The emphatic result sends Roma temporarily to the summit of Serie A, while Lecce remain 12th in the table after the heavy home defeat.
