AC Milan marked their first home game of the season with a convincing 2-0 victory over Venezia at San Siro. Before kick-off, the Rossoneri paid tribute to legendary captain Franco Baresi, with the home side then quickly taking control of the contest.

Milan created a number of promising chances in the first half but could not find the breakthrough. After the interval, Yunus Musah came agonisingly close when he struck the crossbar from just a few yards out.

The turning point came after the introduction of Alexis Saelemaekers. The Belgian winger sparked a quick attack and produced a clever pass into the path of Goncalo Ramos. The Portuguese forward made no mistake, firing the ball between the defender's legs to open the scoring and register his first goal for AC Milan.

Saelemaekers soon played a decisive role again. His pass released Ardon Jashari, who attempted to chip the goalkeeper. The Venezia shot-stopper managed to make the save, but the ball then rebounded off his own defender Redouane Halhal and ended up in the net in bizarre fashion.

The unfortunate own goal completed a comfortable 2-0 win for AC Milan, giving the Rossoneri three valuable points at San Siro.
