Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Khizhnyak won the third gold of the 2024 Olympics for Ukraine.

Khizhnyak did not participate in competitions for more than a year after an injury, however came to the Olympics in an excellent shape.

In the final of the category up to 80 kg, Khizhnyak fought against Kazakh Nurbek Oralbai. He won the first round, lost in the second, and won again in the third one, getting himself his first ever Olympics gold medal.
