The Egyptian star has made history

Mohamed Salah has made history by becoming the first footballer ever to win the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award three times, edging out strong competition from the likes of Alexander Isak and Bruno Fernandes. The Liverpool forward received the prestigious honour at the annual ceremony in Manchester.

The Egyptian star previously won the award in the 2017/18 and 2021/22 seasons. His latest triumph comes after a stellar campaign in 2024/25, where he played a pivotal role in guiding Liverpool to the Premier League title — scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists across all competitions.

Salah's closest challengers included Isak, who finished second in the Premier League Golden Boot race, Arsenal midfield anchor Declan Rice, Chelsea sensation Cole Palmer, Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister, and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.

Other PFA Award Winners

  • Young Player of the Year: Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa)
  • Women's Super League Player of the Year: Mariona Caldentey
  • Championship Player of the Year: James Trafford (Burnley)
