This represents a significant increase from the Magpies’ previous offer

Newcastle United have reignited their pursuit of Yoane Wissa, submitting an improved offer worth up to £40 million to Brentford, according to reports in the English press.

The new bid includes a base fee of £35 million plus an additional £5 million in performance-related add-ons. This represents a significant increase from the Magpies’ previous offer — which stood at around £30 million for the 28-year-old forward.

After initial negotiations reached an impasse, direct talks between the two Premier League clubs have resumed. Sources at BBC Sport reveal that Newcastle’s latest offer still falls short of Brentford’s valuation, but the deal remains active following a key meeting between Wissa and Brentford owner Matthew Benham earlier this week.

BBC also reports that Wissa has expressed his growing frustration with the stalled move, allegedly warning the club he may refuse to play if his transfer to St James’ Park continues to be delayed.
