João Félix Fires Al-Nassr Into Saudi Super Cup Final with Decisive Winner
João Félix announced himself in style as Al-Nassr reached the final of the Saudi Super Cup, edging past rivals Al-Ittihad 2–1 in a dramatic semi-final held in Hong Kong.
The match had everything: early goals, controversy, and a moment of brilliance from the Portuguese newcomer — who latched onto a precise assist from Cristiano Ronaldo to score the match-winning goal in the 61st minute, sending Al-Nassr to the final despite playing with 10 men for over an hour.
The game got off to a flying start as Sadio Mané put Al-Nassr ahead in the 10th minute. But the former Liverpool and Bayern Munich forward turned from hero to villain just 15 minutes later, receiving a straight red card for a reckless challenge, leaving his side with a man down.
In between, Steven Bergwijn had equalised for Al-Ittihad in the 16th minute, capitalising on a moment of defensive lapse. With the score level and Al-Nassr under pressure, the second half looked to be an uphill battle.
But up stepped Félix — recently signed in a high-profile move — who calmly slotted home from Ronaldo’s assist to seal a famous win and book Al-Nassr’s place in the final.
