Manchester City's 2025/26 Premier League Fixture List: A Season to Restore Order

Added at:

After a disappointing 2024/25 campaign that saw Manchester City fall out of the title race unusually early, Pep Guardiola’s side will be determined to reassert their dominance in the Premier League this time around. With expectations sky-high and questions surrounding the long-term future of several senior figures, City’s 2025/26 fixtures offer an early opportunity to reset and refocus.

City begin their campaign with a trip to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on 16 August, followed by home fixtures against Tottenham and Bournemouth that should provide momentum if taken seriously. A more telling early test comes on 13 September, when City host rivals Manchester United at the Etihad — a match that could set the tone for both sides this season.

Key Clashes: Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United

City’s title credentials will be seriously examined in the autumn. A pivotal run includes away matches at Arsenal (20 September) and Brentford (4 October), before hosting Everton and travelling to Aston Villa. The headline clash of the first half of the season is undoubtedly the visit of Liverpool to Manchester on 8 November, followed just two weeks later by a tricky away day at Newcastle.

The return leg of the Manchester derby comes on 17 January at Old Trafford, sandwiched between high-risk fixtures against Brighton and Wolverhampton. City’s final third of the season includes trips to Stamford Bridge and Hill Dickinson Stadium, before a potentially defining home game against Arsenal on 18 April.

Festive Period and Run-In

City’s festive schedule includes back-to-back away trips to Nottingham Forest (27 December) and Sunderland (30 December), before kicking off the New Year with consecutive home games against Chelsea (3 January) and Brighton (7 January).

The run-in could be favourable: City will play Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Brentford in their final three fixtures. However, a tricky away match at Everton (2 May) could pose a late threat to their title hopes. If the title race goes the distance, City will end the season at the Etihad against Aston Villa on 24 May.
