UCL: Como Humiliate Lens in Historic Away-Day Rout

Como produced a stunning performance to thrash French side Lens 9-1 away from home, inflicting the heaviest European defeat in the history of French football. Cesc Fàbregas’s men took complete control from the opening minutes, leaving the hosts stunned and racing into a three-goal lead before half-time.
There was no let-up after the break as Como continued to tear through the Lens defence. The home side struggled to contain the visitors’ relentless attacking play, while a hat-trick from Anastasios Douvikas helped turn an already extraordinary scoreline into a historic humiliation.
Ruben Aguilar scored Lens’ only goal of the night, offering little more than brief consolation as Como continued their relentless march towards an emphatic victory.
The result also brought a remarkable Champions League milestone: Como became the first team in the competition’s history to score nine goals in an away match.
