Barcelona reclaimed top spot in La Liga with a commanding 6-1 victory over Alaves at home, delivering a statement performance after their recent setbacks. Hansi Flick’s side settled the contest in a devastating first-half display, with Raphinha scoring twice while Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal also found the net.

The Catalans dominated proceedings from the outset, overwhelming the visitors with their attacking intensity and clinical finishing. By half-time, Barcelona had built an unassailable advantage, leaving Alaves with a mountain to climb after struggling to contain the hosts’ relentless forward play.

Barcelona showed no signs of easing off after the restart. Lamine Yamal struck again to complete his brace, with the goal confirmed following a VAR review. Gordon then added a sixth to cap another ruthless attacking move and underline the scale of Barcelona’s dominance.

Alaves managed to salvage a consolation goal late in the game through Mariano, but it did little to soften the blow of a heavy defeat.
