Bordeaux's midfielder Danylo Ihnatenko joined Ukrainian national team on Friday and is currently preparing with the rest of the squad for the game against Wales.

“To play for the national team is a childhood dream for me and I'm glad that it came true. I know all the players here, I played against all of them in the Ukrainian championship. And I also played together with the some of them in Shakhtar.

I did my best at Bordeaux at a very difficult time. Now I will compete with the other players in the national team. Football is a sport where two of us can't play in the same position. This is good, because due to competition you become stronger.

I really liked Ukraine's game against Scotland, they had no chance against us. However, Wales are a very good opponent. This team is strong individually due to their squad. We will analyze their players and try to neutralize them,” said Ihnatenko.
