The Catalan club believes recent developments have provided enough salary cap flexibility

Barcelona are confident they will be able to register both Marcus Rashford and Joan García in time for the start of the 2025/26 La Liga season, according to Marca.

The Catalan club believes recent developments — including the transfer of Íñigo Martínez to Al-Nassr and the long-term injury absence of goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen — have provided enough salary cap flexibility to finalize the registration of the two new arrivals.

Barcelona have struggled in recent seasons with La Liga’s financial fair play regulations, which previously delayed the registration of players like Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, forcing them to miss the opening matches of last season.

This year, however, the club is optimistic it will avoid similar issues. Both Rashford, arriving from Manchester United, and García, signed as goalkeeping cover, are expected to be fully eligible before Barcelona’s opening fixture — an away clash against RCD Mallorca on Saturday, August 16.
