Højlund, 21, is seen as a key target to strengthen the attack

According to multiple reports from the Italian press, AC Milan are growing increasingly confident of securing a deal for Manchester United striker Rasmus Højlund before the start of the 2025/26 Serie A campaign.

The Rossoneri have been actively searching for a new centre-forward to provide competition for current first-choice striker Santiago Giménez. Højlund, 21, is seen as a key target to strengthen the attack and add depth to Italian side frontline.

Last week, it was reported that Milan and United had reached a preliminary agreement over a loan deal with a buy option. The proposed terms would see Milan pay €6 million for a one-year loan, with a €40 million purchase clause included in the package.

Initially, Højlund was reportedly hesitant about leaving Old Trafford after just one season, but as per La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Danish international has since warmed to the idea of joining Milan. Talks are ongoing, but optimism is growing at the San Siro that a full agreement could be finalized soon.
