Tottenham - Liverpool 1:2

Liverpool claimed a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in a dramatic Matchday 17 encounter in the Premier League, overcoming injuries, dismissals and late pressure to secure all three points.

The visitors struck first through Alexander Isak, but the opening half was overshadowed by chaos for the home side. Xavi Simons was shown a straight red card before the break, leaving Tottenham a man down. To compound their problems, goalscorer Isak was forced off through injury shortly after putting Liverpool ahead.

Despite the disruptions, Liverpool maintained control and doubled their advantage in the 66th minute. Hugo Ekitike continued his red-hot form, scoring his fifth goal in just three matches to give the visitors breathing space and underline their attacking depth.

The drama was far from over. On 83 minutes, Richarlison pulled one back for Tottenham Hotspur, reigniting hopes of a late comeback. However, those hopes were swiftly dashed when Cristian Romero received his second yellow card, reducing the hosts to nine men in the closing stages.

Liverpool managed the final minutes with composure, seeing out the win to climb up to fifth place in the Premier League standings. For Thomas Frank’s side, the defeat leaves them languishing in 13th, with discipline and squad depth emerging as growing concerns.
