Official: Marino Pusic is Shakhtar's new head coach
Marino Pusic is Shakhtar's new head coach. The contract with the manager lasts until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Marino Pusic was born on August 18, 1971 in Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina). As a player, he is a graduate of FC Velez Mostar. He played for Dutch De Graafschap (1989–1990, 1992–1993) and Go Ahead Eagles (1990), Serbian Crvena Zvezda (1990–1991), Bosnian Velez (1991–1992), Rheden (1993–1994), German Köln (1994–1995), Belgian Eupen (1995–1996), Dutch Babberich (1996–2000) and De Treffers (2000–2001) at the professional level. After finishing his football career, he played for futsal teams.
He also began his career as a coach in futsal, then worked as a manager at the Vitesse Academy (2010–2013), an assistant head coach at NAC Breda (2013–2014), Inter (Azerbaijan, 2015), Twente (2015– 2018), was a head coach of Twente (2018–2019), an assistant head coach at AZ Alkmaar (2019–2021) and Feyenoord (2021–2023).
Achievements as a head coach – the Eerste Divisie winner (2019), as an assistant head coach – the champion of the Netherlands (2023).
