Fiorentina Held to 1-1 Draw by Cagliari
Fiorentina were unable to build on their midweek success in the UEFA Europa Conference League play-off, settling for a 1–1 draw against Cagliari in their latest Serie A fixture.
After a strong first-leg victory in Europe, Stefano Pioli's side entered the match with confidence, but it was far from one-way traffic. The hosts started brightly, and only a string of saves from David de Gea kept La Viola level in the opening half.
After the break, both Gennaro Borrelli and Zito Luvumbo came close for Cagliari, but it was Rolando Mandragora who opened the scoring for Fiorentina, heading home from a pinpoint cross by Albert Gudmundsson.
Moise Kean had a golden opportunity to double the visitors' lead but missed the target. At the other end, De Gea again stood tall, denying Gianluca Gaetano late on. However, in the fourth minute of stoppage time, Gaetano returned the favour with a clever assist, setting up Luca Luperto for the dramatic equaliser.
