Official: Ruben Amorim Appointed AC Milan Head Coach

AC Milan have officially confirmed the appointment of Ruben Amorim as the club's new head coach, marking the beginning of a new era at San Siro.
The Portuguese manager has signed a two-year contract with an option to extend the agreement for an additional season, as the Rossoneri look to return to the summit of both Italian and European football.
Amorim, one of the most highly regarded coaches of his generation, began his managerial career in 2018 and quickly established himself as one of Portugal's brightest tactical minds. Following coaching spells with Casa Pia and Braga, he rose to prominence at Sporting CP, where he guided the Lisbon club to two Primeira Liga titles and helped restore Sporting's status among Portugal's elite.
His success in Portugal earned him a move to Manchester United, where expectations were enormous. However, despite flashes of promise, Amorim was unable to deliver the desired results at Old Trafford. His tenure with the Premier League giants came to an end in January 2026.
Speaking after his appointment, Ruben Amorim made no attempt to hide his excitement.
"There are ambitions that stay with you throughout your career, and coaching AC Milan has always been one of mine," said Rúben Amorim. "I know exactly what this Club means: history, prestige and an extraordinary fanbase around the world. It is a challenge I embrace with pride and enthusiasm, fully aware of what these colors represent. I can't wait to get started and to experience every day the passion that drives AC Milan."
