Villarreal - Girona 5:0

Villarreal CF delivered a ruthless attacking display to crush Girona FC 5–0 at the Estadio de la Cerámica, storming to the top of the La Liga table after two rounds.

From the opening whistle, the Yellow Submarine dominated proceedings. Ukrainian goalkeeper Vladyslav Krapyvtsov played the full 90 minutes in goal for Girona, while compatriot Viktor Tsygankov started but was substituted after 78 minutes with the match long out of reach.

Villarreal raced to a 3–0 lead within just 25 minutes, with goals from Pepe, Tajon Buchanan, and Rafa Marín. Buchanan then completed his brace before halftime and added a third early in the second half to seal a remarkable hat-trick.

Girona looked shell-shocked and offered little resistance. Their only meaningful chances came after the 80th minute, far too late to mount any kind of response.
