Official: Luciano Spalletti named Italy's new coach

The Italian Football Federation has announced that Luciano Spalletti has become the new coach of the national team.

The ex-Napoli coach will take up his duties from 1 September. According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the contract with the 64-year-old specialist is signed until the end of the 2026 World Cup.

Spalletti is the replacement for Roberto Mancini, who handed in his resignation just under a week ago.
