Gavi: Barca made some very good signings and it showed

17-year-old Barcelona midfielder Gavi says he hopes Clásico victory was just the start of a very happy season ahead.

“I am very happy to be on this tour with the team. I am the first to be excited about this team. I’m looking forward to a nice, happy season.”

“We’ve made some very good signings and it showed” he continued, referring to the 1-0 defeat of Real Madrid, where Raphinha scored the winner, Lewandowski made his debut and Christensen was excellent in the middle of defence. Another newbie, Kessie, was one of the best players when he came on in the second half.

“The new signings are here to create competition for places and make the team better” explains Gavi. “And I am as happy to learn from them and I am to listen to the veterans."
