Marco Reus: Borussia wants to be successful in the opening games of the season

Added at:

On the second day of the BVB training camp, Marco Reus answered journalists' questions and commented on pre-season training.

"Today was our first session with all the players present. That already says a lot. We're only at the beginning, but we also know that in just under two weeks we'll be playing our first competitive game of the season. It's a tough pre-season, but we're experienced enough and the quality is there. Having said that, it's still important that we do a lot of joint sessions because the balance isn't quite there yet."

"We haven't got much time. The international players joined us later but still had to complete all the tests. It's not easy, and that includes for the coaching staff. I'm not worried, but you're going to need a bit of fine-tuning when you haven't trained much and only have two friendlies. Nevertheless, we want to be successful in the opening games."

"A lot of players have come in who can play an important role for us. There's a lot of quality here. But it'll take us all a bit of time to get used to each other. Things happen quickly in football and in two weeks we're playing the first round of the cup. That's when we have to be ready, and we will be ready."

"Edin Terzic now has a fantastic opportunity as head coach. He's very focused on the job at hand but he's also pretty relaxed, which is very important and that's something we take on board. We're happy to be able to work with him. The training is very intense. He announced this in advance and he has stuck to it."
