Mercedes sensation Kimi Antonelli etched his name into the Formula 1 record books after becoming the youngest-ever winner of the Monaco Grand Prix. At just 19 years of age, the Italian delivered a commanding performance, leading from lights out to the chequered flag on the streets of Monte Carlo.
The victory marked a remarkable fifth consecutive win for Antonelli, further cementing his status as Formula 1's brightest rising star. In a race packed with drama and unpredictable moments, the young Mercedes driver kept his composure to secure another milestone triumph.
With just 10 laps remaining, Antonelli appeared firmly in control, holding a lead of more than 20 seconds over seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. However, the race was thrown into chaos when a collision involving Lance Stroll and local favourite Charles Leclerc at the final corner brought out the red flags and halted proceedings.
Following a lengthy delay, the race resumed with a standing restart, setting up a tense sprint to the finish. Despite the pressure, Antonelli produced a flawless getaway and expertly managed the challenge from Hamilton, crossing the line to claim his maiden victory at the iconic Monaco Grand Prix.
The result further strengthens Antonelli's grip on the Drivers' Championship. After just six rounds of the season, the Mercedes prodigy now holds a commanding 68-point advantage at the top of the standings, underlining what is rapidly becoming a historic campaign.
