Two France players doubtful ahead of World Cup qualifier against Ukraine

France’s preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Ukraine has been hit by concerns over the fitness of two key players — Jules Koundé and Eduardo Camavinga.
According to Mundo Deportivo, both players left Tuesday’s training session after taking part in a short autograph and photo session with fans. They then completed a light individual running programme with the team’s fitness coach and did not rejoin the main group.
Their availability for Wednesday’s crucial qualifier remains in doubt. Koundé missed Barcelona’s last match against Celta due to muscle discomfort, while Camavinga has also been struggling with minor fitness issues — though head coach Didier Deschamps was initially hopeful he would be fit in time.
France host Ukraine in the penultimate round of World Cup qualifying, with both teams still battling for direct qualification to the 2026 tournament.
