At the 2023 African Cup of Nations, all participants in the semi-final matches have been determined. Nigeria and DR Congo were joined by the teams of Côte d'Ivoire and South Africa.

The hosts of the tournament got a strong-willed victory, beating Mali with ten men, while the match between South Africa and Cape Verde ended without any goals scored, and as a result the last semi-finalist was determined in a penalty shootout, where the hosts of the 2010 World Cup were luckier.

Côte d'Ivoire will play with DR Congo in the semi-finals at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan on Wednesday, February 7, and South Africa will meet with Nigeria on the same day.
