Inter Milan were denied victory in dramatic fashion after conceding a stoppage-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw against relegated Hellas Verona in the penultimate round of the Serie A season.

Having already secured the Serie A title weeks earlier, the newly crowned Italian champions entered the match with little pressure, while Verona had already confirmed their drop to Serie B.

After a quiet first half at San Siro, Inter finally broke the deadlock shortly after the restart. The breakthrough came in fortunate circumstances as Gabriel Gudmundsson inadvertently turned the ball into his own net under pressure from the home side.

It appeared the champions were on course for another routine victory, but Hellas Verona produced a late twist. Deep into stoppage time, Edoardo Bove struck for the visitors to snatch a dramatic equaliser and silence the home crowd.
