Juventus - Lecce 1:1

Juventus missed a valuable opportunity to close the gap on the Serie A Champions League places after being held to a 1–1 draw at home by Lecce. The result brought an end to the Bianconeri’s three-game winning run and left a sense of frustration in Turin, with the hosts failing to convert dominance into victory.

Juventus started brightly and controlled large spells of the first half, creating enough chances to put the game to bed early. However, an inspired performance from Wladimiro Falcone in the Lecce goal repeatedly denied the hosts and kept the visitors firmly in the contest.

Then, just before the break, came the shock. A costly turnover from Andrea Cambiaso in midfield was instantly punished, as Lameck Banda burst into space and finished clinically to give Lecce a surprise 1–0 lead heading into half-time.

The response from Juventus after the restart was swift. Just four minutes into the second half, a central attack ended with a shot from Kenan Yildiz, the ball ricocheting kindly to Weston McKennie, who kept his composure to fire home the equaliser.

The defining moment of the match soon followed. After a handball inside the Lecce penalty area, the referee pointed to the spot. David stepped up, but his effort straight down the middle was brilliantly saved by Falcone, who blocked the penalty with his legs to preserve the draw.

Juventus threw everything forward in the closing stages, making attacking substitutions in search of a winner. Deep into stoppage time, the hosts came agonisingly close, only for Yildiz to see his effort crash against the post.

The final whistle confirmed a missed chance for Juventus, who fail to register their tenth league win of the season and now risk losing ground on the top four.
