Genoa - Inter 1:2

Inter Milan, last season’s UEFA Champions League finalists, moved to the top of the Serie A table for the 2025/26 campaign with a hard-fought away victory over Genoa.

The Nerazzurri, now under the guidance of head coach Cristian Chivu, showed their title credentials at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. Despite a committed display from the hosts, Inter’s superior quality proved decisive.

The visitors laid the foundations for victory before the break. Goals from Yann Bisseck and captain Lautaro Martínez handed Inter a comfortable first-half advantage, allowing them to control the tempo and keep Genoa at arm’s length.

Genoa did manage to inject some late tension into the contest. On 68 minutes, Vitinha pulled one back with a well-taken finish, giving the home crowd hope of a comeback. However, Inter’s experience ensured there was no late collapse.
