The club has officially dismissed the Italian coach after a string of poor results

The long-running saga surrounding Stefano Pioli’s future at Fiorentina has finally come to an end. The club has officially dismissed the Italian coach after a string of poor results that dragged the Viola to the bottom of the Serie A standings.

Stefano Pioli is no longer the head coach of Fiorentina. The club would like to thank him and his staff for their professionalism during their tenure. First-team duties will be temporarily entrusted to Daniele Galoppa, who will begin work immediately,” the club said in an official statement.

The drama behind the scenes reportedly stemmed from Fiorentina’s attempts to persuade Pioli to resign — a move that would have significantly reduced the financial burden of his departure. However, the 59-year-old coach refused to step down voluntarily, insisting he had no intention of leaving on his own terms. Faced with his firm stance, the club was left with no choice but to act decisively and terminate his contract.
