Domenico Criscito Set to Replace Patrick Vieira in Genoa

According to reports from the Italian press, Patrick Vieira has stepped down as head coach of Genoa, bringing an end to his tenure in Serie A.
Rumours had been circulating for weeks that the club’s patience with the French legend had worn thin. While Genoa initially waited for Vieira to take the first step, both sides have now reached an agreement to part ways by mutual consent.
As reported by Football Italia, today’s training session will be led by none other than former Genoa defender and club icon Domenico Criscito. The ex-captain, who remains a beloved figure among fans, does not yet hold a UEFA coaching licence, so he will be assisted by Roberto Murgita during the upcoming Serie A fixture against Sassuolo.
Sources inside the club suggest that Criscito is expected to serve as interim coach while Genoa finalize talks with potential replacements. Former Torino manager Paolo Vanoli has already been in contact with the team, though a final decision has not yet been made.
