Napoli - Genoa 2:1

Napoli were pushed to their limits but ultimately came from behind to defeat a determined Genoa side 2–1 at home in Sunday’s 2025–26 Serie A clash.

Ruslan Malinovskyi started in midfield for Genoa and helped orchestrate an impressive first-half display from the visitors. Their efforts were rewarded with the opening goal — stunning the reigning champions and silencing the crowd at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

But Napoli responded in the second half with renewed urgency. On 54 minutes, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box and slotted home the equaliser. The comeback was completed in the 75th minute when summer signing Rasmus Højlund tapped in from close range after a sharp save by the Genoa goalkeeper.

With the win, Napoli draw level on points with AS Roma at the top of the Serie A table, keeping the early title race wide open.
