World champion capped off the European leg of the 2025 Formula 1 season in dominant fashion

Max Verstappen capped off the European leg of the 2025 Formula 1 season in dominant fashion, securing victory at the Italian Grand Prix ahead of both McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

The reigning World Champion started from pole position at Monza but briefly lost the lead on the opening lap after running wide. However, Verstappen quickly reclaimed the top spot with a bold move on Norris and never looked back, opening up a commanding gap and crossing the finish line with a lead of over 19 seconds.

The late-race drama came from the McLaren garage. A slow pit stop saw Norris drop behind teammate Piastri in the closing stages. Team radio then intervened, with Piastri asked to return the position to Norris. The Australian obliged without protest, ensuring a clean 2-3 finish for the team — and crucially, maintaining his championship lead.

Behind the top three, it was a mixed day for the chasing pack. Charles Leclerc brought home solid points for Ferrari in fourth, while George Russell and Lewis Hamilton secured a top-six finish for Mercedes and Ferrari respectively.
