Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports that the deal taking Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea to Manchester City has been completed. The Argentina international was reportedly keen on a reunion with Enzo Maresca, with the pair having previously developed a strong working relationship during Maresca’s time in charge at Chelsea.

The reported €146m fee would also equal the current Premier League transfer record. The same amount was paid by Liverpool to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

Enzo Fernandez joined Chelsea in January 2023 after making a huge impression during the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Argentina. His contract with the London club was originally set to run until the summer of 2032.
