AS Roma produced a remarkable late comeback to beat Atalanta 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico, scoring twice in stoppage time to maintain their perfect start to the season.

The visitors took the lead shortly after half-time when Ederson capitalised on a defensive mistake and fired past the Roma goalkeeper. The hosts had dominated much of the game and twice hit the woodwork through Santiago Castro, but could not find a way past Marco Carnesecchi until the closing stages.

Then came an extraordinary finale. In the final minutes, Mario Hermoso met a cross from Matias Soule following a corner to level the score and send the home crowd into a frenzy.

There was still time for one more twist. Matias Soule beat Davide Zappacosta before finding the bottom corner with a precise finish to complete the turnaround and seal all three points for Roma.
