Roberto Mancini Emerges as Leading Candidate for Italy Head Coach Role

Italy could be set for a familiar face on the touchline, with multiple reports across the country suggesting that Roberto Mancini has emerged as the clear frontrunner to become the next head coach of the Italy national team.
According to several Italian media outlets, including respected transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Mancini is expected to replace interim manager Silvio Baldini, with negotiations reportedly at an advanced stage.
Speaking to TMW, Di Marzio described Mancini's return to the Azzurri as "little more than a formality," further fueling speculation that an official announcement could arrive in the near future.
The 61-year-old is no stranger to the national team setup. Roberto Mancini managed Italy between 2018 and 2023, overseeing one of the country's most memorable recent achievements by guiding the team to victory at UEFA Euro 2020.
