Nottingham Forest end talks with Euro 2020 winner Roberto Mancini
Roberto Mancini will not be taking charge of Nottingham Forest after the Premier League club failed to reach an agreement with the former Italy manager, according to multiple reports.
Forest had approached the Euro 2020-winning coach following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou. Several outlets — including Telegraph Sport and Sky Sport Italia — reported that Mancini was among the leading candidates for the job alongside Sean Dyche.
However, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has revealed that after 24 hours of negotiations, the two parties decided against proceeding. Both sides reportedly agreed that Mancini was “not the right fit for the club at this time.”
Had the deal gone through, the move would have marked Mancini’s return to the Premier League, where he famously guided Manchester City to the 2011/12 league title - the club’s first in 44 years.
