Georgiy Sudakov

FC Porto are back in the race for highly-rated Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov, according to Portuguese outlet Record, as ongoing talks between Napoli and Shakhtar appear to have stalled.

The Portuguese giants are reportedly monitoring the situation closely, hopeful that delays in Napoli’s pursuit could open a path for their own move — despite financial limitations.

Previous Bid Rejected

This isn’t Porto’s first attempt to land the 21-year-old Ukraine international. In the winter transfer window, the Dragons reportedly offered €15 million for 50% of Sudakov’s economic rights — a proposal that was swiftly rejected by Shakhtar.

Should Porto return with a new bid, it will need to be significantly improved to match Shakhtar’s valuation. The Ukrainian club have made it clear they are in no rush to sell and expect top-market value for one of their most promising young talents.

Porto’s Midfield Reshuffle

Porto’s renewed interest in Sudakov comes amid a potential midfield reshaping this summer, with several key players attracting interest from abroad. Sudakov is viewed as a long-term investment with the technical quality and tactical maturity to thrive in European competition.

Competition Still Fierce

Napoli remain in the frame and are still considered frontrunners if they can resolve contractual disagreements. But with negotiations dragging on, Porto may see this as the perfect moment to strike — even if it means stretching their financial limits.
