Bayern Munich were left frustrated after throwing away a commanding comeback to draw 3-3 with Norwegian side Viking FK in the second round of the UEFA Champions League league phase.

The German giants endured a nightmare start on the artificial turf in Stavanger, falling 2-0 behind and facing the prospect of a damaging European setback. However, Vincent Kompany's side responded emphatically after the break. A brace from Harry Kane, followed by a goal from Luis Diaz, turned the contest on its head and put Bayern in control at 3-2.

Just when the visitors appeared to have completed a remarkable turnaround, the game took another dramatic twist. Michael Olise was sent off in the 74th minute for a moment of indiscipline, leaving Bayern Munich to defend their narrow advantage with ten men.

The numerical disadvantage ultimately proved decisive. Viking FK refused to surrender and found a late equaliser through Sigurd Haugen in the 90th minute, snatching a memorable draw and denying the Bundesliga powerhouse a crucial victory.
