Starting from pole position, VerstappenGeorge Russell of Mercedes shortly after the lights went out. However, Russell's advantage proved short-lived. The British driver lost control of his car on the slippery circuit and crashed, allowing Verstappen to reclaim first place.

The four-time world champion made the most of the opportunity, keeping his rivals at bay for the remainder of the sprint to secure another valuable victory. Once back in front, Verstappen showed his trademark composure in challenging conditions and never looked likely to surrender the lead.

Ferrari enjoyed a strong result, with Lewis Hamilton finishing second and Charles Leclerc taking third. Championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli crossed the line in fourth for Mercedes, narrowly missing out on a podium finish.

The closing stages proved particularly costly for McLaren. Teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri collided, ending the Australian's race and dealing a significant blow to the team's points haul. Norris managed to continue and eventually finished eighth.
