The race for the 2025/26 European Golden Boot never truly reached dramatic heights — and that is largely because Harry Kane produced another season of elite-level finishing for Bayern Munich.
The England captain sealed the award in emphatic fashion, scoring a brilliant hat-trick in Bayern’s final Bundesliga match against FC Köln. The treble took Harry Kane to an extraordinary total of 36 league goals, effectively ending any remaining debate over who would finish as Europe’s top scorer.
While several of Europe’s biggest stars enjoyed impressive campaigns, none were able to keep pace with the relentless consistency of the Bayern striker. Erling Haaland has scored 26 goals for Manchester City in the Premier League, while Kylian Mbappé has registered 24 goals for Real Madrid in La Liga. Both forwards still have opportunities to improve their numbers, but catching Kane now appears virtually impossible.
This triumph will mark the second European Golden Boot of Harry Kane’s career. The prolific striker first claimed the prestigious award during the 2023/24 season — remarkably finishing on the exact same tally of 36 goals.
