Michael Carrick is on the verge of being rewarded with a full-time contract at Manchester United after overseeing a remarkable revival at Old Trafford. According to reports in England, the former United midfielder is expected to sign a two-year agreement with an option to extend for an additional season.
The club hierarchy are keen to finalise the deal before Sunday’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest, a move that would officially confirm their faith in Carrick’s long-term project.
Michael Carrick stepped into the role on an interim basis following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim in January and has since transformed the mood around the club. Under his leadership, Manchester United have surged from sixth to third place in the Premier League, re-establishing themselves among England’s elite after a turbulent first half of the campaign.
With only two matches remaining, the Red Devils have all but secured a top-three finish and already guaranteed qualification for the next edition of the UEFA Champions League. It marks a major step forward for the club, which is now set to finish on the Premier League podium for the first time since the 2022/23 season.
