Arsenal suffered a major setback in the Premier League title race

Arsenal suffered a major setback in the Premier League title race, falling to a surprising defeat against AFC Bournemouth on Matchday 32. The result could prove pivotal, as the league leaders dropped crucial points at a decisive stage of the season.

The visitors made a bright start and struck early. In the 17th minute, Eli Kroupi found himself in the right place at the right time, finishing from close range to give Bournemouth the lead and silence the home crowd.

Arsenal responded quickly, with Kai Havertz coming close just minutes later, but the German’s header flew over the bar. The equaliser eventually arrived in the 34th minute after a handball from Ryan Christie resulted in a penalty. Viktor Gyökeres stepped up and calmly converted, sending Djordje Petrović the wrong way.

The second half brought more drama. Gyökeres thought he had given Arsenal the lead on 65 minutes, but his effort was ruled out for offside. That moment proved costly. Just nine minutes later, Evanilson teed up Alex Scott, who drilled a precise finish into the bottom corner to restore Bournemouth’s advantage.

Despite late pressure, Arsenal were unable to find another response, leaving their title ambitions under serious threat. With rivals closing in, this defeat may yet prove a defining moment in the race for the Premier League crown.
