The decisive moment arrived deep into stoppage time

Newcastle United produced a heroic performance at St James’ Park, defeating Manchester United 2–1 despite playing much of the match with ten men. The result also handed Michael Carrick his first defeat since taking charge of the Red Devils.

The closing stages of the first half turned the match into pure chaos. Newcastle United were reduced to ten players when Jacob Ramsey was shown a second yellow card for simulation. Moments later, the game exploded into life as both sides struck in quick succession.

Anthony Gordon fired the hosts in front to spark wild celebrations inside St James’ Park, but Manchester United responded almost immediately. Veteran midfielder Casemiro found the net to restore parity, setting up a tense second half.

Despite having the numerical advantage after the break, Manchester United failed to make their dominance count. Newcastle United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale delivered a series of outstanding saves, denying efforts from Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee to keep the home side alive.

The decisive moment arrived deep into stoppage time. Substitute William Osula broke away on a lightning counter-attack and unleashed a superb finish in the 90th minute, sealing a remarkable victory for Newcastle United.
