Al-Hilal

Al-Hilal have moved to settle any uncertainty surrounding the future of one of their key players. The Saudi club have officially announced a contract extension for Rúben Neves, bringing an end to speculation over a potential departure.

According to a statement published on the club’s official X account, the new deal will run until 30 June 2029. Neves’ previous contract was due to expire at the end of the current season, with several clubs monitoring his situation.

The Portuguese midfielder joined Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023 from Wolverhampton Wanderers, initially signing a three-year agreement. From his very first months in Saudi Arabia, Neves proved to be more than a high-profile signing, quickly establishing himself as a central figure in midfield.

A decisive role in accelerating the negotiations was played by head coach Simone Inzaghi, who has identified Neves as a cornerstone of his project at Al-Hilal.
