Roberto De Zerbi, head coach of Olympique Marseille, addressed speculation about his potential departure following the club’s Champions League exit as he prepared for the upcoming match against Paris FC. The Italian coach made it clear he has no intention of leaving.

“There was nothing unusual. We lost an important Champions League match — it hurt. I didn’t take Thursday’s training session because I was reviewing video and feeling unwell, but I’m here to set the record straight. My departure was never on the table. I agreed to come to Marseille and stay for a second season knowing the challenges. I have the strength to remain here for five or six years — this is my passion,” De Zerbi said.

He also pointed out the squad difficulties: “When six or seven changes happen in every transfer window, it’s hard to remain competitive. This summer alone we changed twelve players. We need time to build cohesion. Marseille is the perfect place for me, and we have the strength to rise again — as we always have,” the Italian added.
