Adli became the unlikely hero, reacting quickest in the box to turn the ball home during Bournemouth’s last attack of the match

AFC Bournemouth produced one of the most dramatic moments of the Premier League weekend as Amin Adli struck deep into stoppage time to seal a stunning victory over Liverpool at the Vitality Stadium.

The hosts looked in full control early on, racing into a two-goal lead thanks to composed finishes from Evanilson and Alex Jimenez.

However, just as it seemed Bournemouth would cruise into the break, Virgil van Dijk pulled one back for Liverpool late in the first half, injecting belief into the visitors and shifting the momentum.

The pressure eventually told in the 80th minute when Dominik Szoboszlai produced a moment of pure quality, curling a sensational free-kick beyond the goalkeeper to level the score. At that point, the game felt destined to swing Liverpool’s way.

The Merseyside club had chances to complete the comeback, especially after Evanilson missed a golden opportunity that could have sealed the points earlier for Bournemouth. But football had one final twist reserved for the home crowd.

In the fifth minute of added time, Amin Adli became the unlikely hero, reacting quickest in the box to turn the ball home during Bournemouth’s last attack of the match — sending the Vitality Stadium into raptures.
