Dovbyk Swap Deal? What Roma and Atletico Madrid Could Be Planning

Artem Dovbyk could soon find himself sharing a dressing room with Antoine Griezmann and Julian Alvarez. According to emerging reports, AS Roma are exploring a potential swap deal involving the Ukrainian striker as part of an ambitious transfer strategy.
The idea centres on Roma’s strong interest in signing Giacomo Raspadori, who is currently on the books at Atletico Madrid, according to sources cited by Atletico & Turkiye. The Italian club are weighing up two options: a loan move with an obligation to buy or a permanent transfer. However, Atletico are believed to be demanding around €22 million for the forward if a full deal is pursued.
To ease negotiations, Roma are reportedly considering including Dovbyk as part of the deal. The Ukrainian international is no stranger to Atletico’s recruitment team — the Madrid club had already shown concrete interest in signing him from Girona in the summer of 2024.
The timing could also work in Roma’s favour. Diego Simeone is said to be increasingly frustrated with Alexander Sorloth, and reports suggest the Norwegian striker could be moved on. Should that happen, a vacancy would open up in Atletico’s attacking line — potentially clearing the way for Dovbyk to arrive.
