Bayern cruise past Heidenheim to take nine-point lead into winter break

Bayern Munich headed into the winter break in dominant fashion, sweeping aside Heidenheim with a convincing away victory in the Bundesliga and extending their lead at the top of the table to nine points. It was a performance that underlined the champions’ authority as Germany’s title race pauses for the festive period.
The visitors set the tone early. On 15 minutes, Josip Stanišić opened the scoring, giving Bayern a deserved lead after a strong start. Control soon turned into comfort, and midway through the first half Michael Olise doubled the advantage, finishing confidently in the 32nd minute.
Heidenheim attempted to raise the tempo and make a contest of it after the break, but Bayern Munich remained firmly in command, dictating possession and limiting the hosts to isolated moments of threat.
The closing stages turned the scoreline into a statement. On 86 minutes, Luis Díaz added a third to cap a slick attacking move, before Harry Kane struck in stoppage time to put the result beyond any doubt and crown another ruthless display.
