A missed opportunity for Amorim’s side to move closer to the European spots

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall fired Everton to a gritty 1–0 victory at Old Trafford, spoiling a landmark day for Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim, who marked exactly one year in charge of the club.

Despite being reduced to ten men as early as the 14th minute, when Idrissa Gueye received a straight red card, the Toffees refused to fold. Just fifteen minutes later, Dewsbury-Hall produced a precise low strike from the edge of the box, giving the visitors a shock lead and silencing the home crowd.

Manchester United pressed aggressively after the break, but a series of superb saves from Jordan Pickford kept the hosts at bay. The win lifts Everton to 11th place in the Premier League table, drawing level on points with 10th-placed United — a missed opportunity for Amorim’s side to move closer to the European spots, and a result that will raise fresh questions at Old Trafford.
