Dortmund Edge Past Augsburg to Keep Pressure on Bayern Munich

Borussia Dortmund kept up their pursuit of Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table with a hard-fought 1–0 away victory over struggling Augsburg. The hosts’ troubles under head coach Sandro Wagner deepened as Serhou Guirassy netted the decisive goal in the 37th minute, capitalising on a defensive error to end his personal goal drought.
The atmosphere at the WWK Arena was tense throughout. Augsburg supporters displayed banners criticising Wagner’s management, while sections of the travelling Dortmund fans twice interrupted the game — throwing tennis balls and lighting fireworks in protest against match scheduling.
With this victory, Dortmund move up to second place on 20 points, continuing their chase behind Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Augsburg sit in 15th, facing mounting pressure to turn their season around.
