Union Berlin - Borussia Mg 3:1

Borussia Mönchengladbach's miserable start to the season continued on Friday as they slumped to a 3–1 defeat away to Union Berlin in the opening match of Bundesliga Matchday 7.

The hosts wasted no time asserting their dominance at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei, racing into a 2–0 lead by the 26th minute thanks to a quick-fire brace from Danilho Doekhi, who scored both goals with towering headers from set pieces.

Hariz Tabakovic pulled one back for Gladbach just before half-time, briefly giving the visitors hope, but Rani Khedira sealed the victory for Union in the 81st minute with a composed finish to make it 3–1.

Union Berlin move up to 7th place in the Bundesliga table with 10 points, while Gladbach's crisis deepens. The Foals remain winless this season with 3 draws and 4 losses, a goal difference of -9, and are now bottom of the table.
